The Murieta Equestrian Center is the largest equestrian facility in the State of California, boasting five indoor and twelve outdoor arenas, cattle facilities, two cutting arenas, 379 permanent stalls, 500 portable stalls, nine expansive spectator seating areas, and more. The Murieta Equestrian Center is the premier destination for over 200,000 competitors and spectators annually.
The 2021 calendar is their largest to date, with more than 50 events including hunter/jumper, dressage and cowboy dressage, FEI vaulting, reining, western pleasure, trail, cutting horse competitions, and a wide variety of breed shows. MECs two premier events are the Sacramento International Horse Show, part of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping North American League and the world class El Rancho Futurity & Foothill Fiesta cutting horse competition. Are pets allowed?
Pets of any kind are not allowed at the Western States Horse Expo and should not be left in unattended vehicles.
What are the Horse Expo Hours?
The Horse Expo starts Thursday, July 16 at 9:00am PST and runs through Sunday, July 19th at 5pm PST. The daily trade show hours are: Thursday, Friday & Saturday- 9am to 6pm and Sunday- 9am to 5pm. Special events may be happening outside of these hours, please check the schedule and Special Event pages for more information.
Is there handicapped parking?
For guests with a valid ADA parking placard or license plate, we do offer a separate parking area in the front of the General Parking Lot and as close to the Main Entrance that is allowed. Parking is $10 per vehicle at the gate. All parking is clearly marked & manned. ***Lone Pine Drive at Jackson Hwy will be closed to all traffic while the event is active. All traffic will use the Murieta Drive stoplight***
Can I bring my own food & drinks?
Guests are welcome to bring outside food and drink into the Horse Expo. No glass, aluminum cans, or outside alcohol are allowed. No ice chests.
Can I bring a lawn chair, camping chair or picnic blanket to the Horse Expo?
Yes! If you have favorite chair or blanket that you would like to pack into the expo and enjoy the many grassy lawns that surround the clinic arenas, please bring them.
Can I purchase tickets at the gate?
Tickets will be available to purchase the day of the event using cash or any major credit/debit cards. For the best price order your tickets online! If you plan on attending multiple days, 4-day passes will also be available on our website to purchase. Tickets at the gate will be a higher price and only allow for single day entry.
