Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show Still A Go!

The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is gearing up to celebrate its 66th Anniversary on February 11-21, 2021 at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona USA. The focus will be on offering a safe competition that offers the same Scottsdale experience so Arabian enthusiasts can get back to what they love! The show typically boasts an annual spectator attendance of over 300,000 people over the 11 days will be smaller this year. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has given the organizers no other option than to close to the public. Competitors will still experience the same great competition with over 1,000 classes and well over 2,000 horses entered in the show for 2021 the competition is set to be top of the charts for excitement.

For those that make the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show their yearly vacation to come and watch the amazing Arabian Horses, they will not be able to attend the show this year. Only competitors and essential personnel as defined by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF.org) will be able to get on the grounds this year. The Arabian Horse Association of Arizona is working on some options so spectators can still be a part of the action, the show will be digitally broadcast via live feed. So, spectators will still be able to cheer on your favorite horses, trainers, and farms and keep up on the action live from the safety and comfort of your home. The Greatest Horse Show on Earth will be broadcast worldwide by EQSports.net on Horse & Country and the link will be on the main page of the show’s website: www.scottsdaleshow.com. Access is affordable and an All Access pass will be $49.99 which will include Live and On Demand access for all 11 days. For those who only want to watch only a day or two a Single Day Pass(es) will be $9.99.

The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show will be one of the first large events of the year in the state of Arizona, so all eyes are going to be on the safety, security and compliance for everyone on the grounds. To produce the event the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona has had to prove to a lengthy list of sanctioning bodies, local, state and federal agencies that it knows how to follow the very strict rules that have been set in place for 2021. “We are lucky to be able to host our event, especially in a climate where most events have either moved their dates or cancelled for 2021. We are grateful to be able to support the Arabian horse industry with this prestigious event” Mary Lou Houge the association president reports.

The show will offer everything from the very exciting futurity halter classes to fun array of cow classes! There are a few new classes to check out on the live stream this year, Performance Halter where exhibitors can compete in a halter class that is restricted to horses entered in an under saddle/driving class. These horses must be 3 & over and have to show and be judged in a performance (under saddle or driving) class at the same show – or have competed in an Endurance of Competitive Trail Ride. Another is Ranch Rail, the Ranch Pleasure classes have been a huge hit so the addition of a Ranch Rail classes were an obvious addition for 2021. The International classes have been moved out to the Wendell Arena to accomodate for the new safety regulations and will be held the first weekend of the show in the evenings under the beautiful Arizona sunsets.

The Arabian Horse Association of Arizona board has worked hard to make sure we could produce a show that our horse community could be proud of with the same Scottsdale integrity!
