Rock Creek Opening Pack Stations this Week

Join us in the Wilderness…
Dear Guests, We are opening the pack stations this week. Fortunately, it was a light snowpack and we will be able to get into the backcountry early this summer. Conditions are ideal for traveling over Mono Pass in late June and the high mountain passes in Kings Canyon will be passable in mid-July. Our John Muir Trail Trips are operating as planned.

In regards to Covid, we have a plan in place to keep you and our staff safe. Governor Newsom is allowing residents to travel to your National Forests and Parks. The Eastern Sierra will be open to visitors the first week in June. Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park expects to have wilderness rangers in place by July 1st.

We have a great crew that is ready to pack you into the wilderness. The horses and mules wintered well and are anxious to head to the Sierra on the Horse Drive June 19th. We look forward to seeing you this summer.

Cheyne Perrault, Carmen and Craig’s niece, is running the Rock Creek office and can be reached at 760-872-8331. And, feel free to call me on my cell at 760-937-0958 to book a trip or answer any questions. Craig London, D.V.M. Email

Spot and Dunnage Trips
Taking your family or friends into the wilderness is a great way to restore your soul. What can be safer than isolating you in the backcountry at a private campsite?

During the 1940’s through the early 1980’s it was a family tradition to head to the Sierra for a week or longer trip. Now might be the time to take a spot or dunnage trip with your family. We have lots of destinations within five miles to locations deep into the wilderness. And, we have good choices of camps for those that want to have a campfire.

We can loan or rent camping supplies for those that want to set up their own private camp and cook for their group. And, we offer open trips for hikers or riders that are fully outfitted. If you want to go for just a few nights we suggest our base camp service.
