CO Gypsy Fest 2022 was held September 2-4 at the Montrose County Event Center & Fairgrounds. Competitors came from several Western US states, including Nevada and Utah. Our furthest competitors arrived safely from Texas!! The Western States Gypsy Horse Club has been hosting this event in Montrose Colorado for the past three years. This show series hosts several Gypsy Fest shows in the Western US allowing competitors to display the versatility of the Gypsy Horse. Disciplines included at these events are English, Western, Ranch Riding, Trail, Driving and Dressage.
One of the main highlights of the CO Gypsy Fest is the annual evening expo. During the expo all are welcomed to come and learn about this magnificent breed, their ability and their demeanor. You will see each discipline displayed at the expo, which truly showcases the Gypsies ability to do and please. You will also see several other draft type breeds represented, as Colorado is known for their draft horse shows. Other breeds represented this year included, Shires, Drums and Friesians! After the annual expo, held every season on Saturday evening of the event, spectators are encouraged to walk around the barns and meet the owners, breeders and trainers. Most importantly, to experience the Gypsy horse!!
